Props and costume ideas

Costumes
Each character within my music video has a distinctive style, therefore, I will be choosing each costume based on the character's persona and attitude, as well as, ensuring the outfits consist of bright and vivid colours which is a convention of pop music videos. My initial idea for the main character is to portray her fashion sense as funky, urban, glitzy and quirky. In order to achieve this, I will be taking style inspiration from Taylor Swift herself as she adopts a similar fashion sense. Taylor Swift wears vibrant patterned clothing within her music videos and her go to summer outfit is a crop top with a mini skirt. In addition to this, Taylor has a retro fashion style such as high waisted shorts and ray bans. This inspires me to portray my main character in a similar manner. On the other hand, the persona of the other female character within my music video is classy and chilled out. Taylor's style icons are Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, both of which adopt a classy style. I will therefore be using inspiration from her style icons to dress my other female character. Finally, for the male character I will be taking inspiration from celebrities like Ed Sheeran who is a close friend of Taylor's, furthermore, I will be going for a casual and quirky representation. Each character will also be wearing a pair of glasses to coordinate with their outfits in one of the scenes.

Props
In one of the scenes, I will be using hand held props. The main character will be holding the camera and recording herself in front of a mirror. During this scene, the other two characters will be dealing with other props such as mobile phones for taking a selfie or an object to play around with. Other set props will consist of furniture such as a table or sofa and in order to achieve this, I will recording at a fancy furniture shop.
